Parent Engagement

Durham District School Board (DDSB) recognizes the importance of partnerships with parents and guardians in creating positive learning environments. The School Community Council (SCC) is an advisory body that makes recommendations to the Principal and school board to further student achievement and well-being. Every school in the DDSB has an SCC. The SCC is made up of parents, school staff and community members and should represent the diversity of the school community.

Our School Community Council

At Pierre Elliott Trudeau Public School, the S.C.C. collaborates with the school administration and provides input into how we can help to improve our school community. We also plan events, organize fundraising initiatives, and raise money for valuable resources and experiences for our students.

Looking to get involved? Everyone is welcome at our monthly S.C.C. meetings – you don’t need to be a member to attend and participate! There are also plenty of volunteer opportunities throughout the year that are available to our PET community.

If you have any questions for your S.C.C., or if you wish to become a volunteer for one of our programs, please email us anytime at SCC.PierreElliottTrudeauPS@scc.ddsb.ca.
